Nurse Practitioner Qualifications
- Active North Carolina Nurse Practitioner license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care nurse practitioner experience (cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery preferred)
- Experience in operating room, rounding on floors and ICU, and post-op clinic coverage
- Board Certified or Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Prepared for full hospital credentialing (60-90 days)
- Ability to attend on-site orientation in Hickory, NC
Primary Responsibilities – Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
- Deliver comprehensive acute care for cardiovascular surgery patients
- Assist in the operating room and perform patient rounds on floors and ICU
- Provide post-operative clinic coverage at least one day per week and as needed
- Participate in first call coverage during assigned nurse practitioner shifts
- Collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Support continuity of care and stable rotation coverage for cardiovascular patients
